Games Designers Can Play to Spark Creativity

Sims is short for simulation. In the game, you make a character that will have to find his way on the virtual Sim universe. You do not actually control your Sim, but you influence it. Sometimes you would be surprised when you go back to your computer and your Sim has already gotten married. But before you can get your character anywhere in life, you have to give it a home. That means you design a house for it or you buy one. Then as your sim makes more money, you can buy more materials to expand your house.

Survival Craft

Survival Craft is a Minecraft clone. It has almost identical mechanics, but with better graphics and easier controls. Survival craft also has a creative mode where you can just build whatever you want. This game also has electricity features that you can use to make led signs within the game. Survival craft has unlimited area so you can make a big city if you want. Like Minecraft, you can also upload your work for everyone else to experience.

Harvest Moon

Before Farmville, there was Harvest Moon. In harvest moon, you take care of an old abandoned farm and slowly bring it back to life. You plow, you cut weeds, and you plant vegetables to sell at the nearby town. You also have to repair the old farmhouse and decorate it as you choose. One of the interesting aspects of the game is finding a wife among the many characters inside the game. Then they can help you decorate.
